A funny thing happened to base I made for the 3-D Christmas Tree. This is my grand-daughter Sophie. She’s three.
Sophie and her sister Ella were here last weekend for a sleepover. During the weekend, we, or rather they, decorated our Christmas tree and they did an excellent job! During the decorating process, Sophie went into the dining room. We have an open concept LR/DR/Kitchen. I came away from taking pictures of Ella hanging ornaments and walked into the dining room. As I did, Sophie made a dash from the buffet to behind a dining room chair. I knew she had been up to something and I asked *What are you doing Miss Sophie.* No sooner did I get the words out when I noticed that she was chewing. I remembered that I had set the base of the 3-D Christmas tree on the buffet. For a little girl with an over-powering sweet tooth, a 12″ inch round decorated cookie proved to be too much and she just had to take a little taste test.
She had to reach up on her tip toes to do it and only managed to get a little nibble before I interrupted her sampling. It looks like a mouse nibbled at it. Hilarious!
So, I had to make a new base and this time I decided to do it with Santa’s face in the center instead of just a red circle. With just three colours, it was fairly quick to decorate and it will be out of my house before Sophie returns with her family for Christmas.
Oh, I also did a few Santa face cookies. Just the perfect size for a little cookie-loving girl.

You granddaughter is adorable (I can relate to her sweet tooth:)) and the story is just too cute, Paula! Your new base is just gorgeous with the Santa in the middle and I love the cookies too…with the sparkling sugar and sprinkles added. Such lucky and well-loved grandchildren:)
If my kids did that, I would have been so upset. But grandkids? That’s different, isn’t it? Cute story AND cookies.
That is so totally cute. My husband and I don’t have kids yet, but we do have one kitty that seems to have a sweet tooth (even though I heard cats can’t taste sweet things?). She has licked drying cookies AND cake pops. She is a stinker
Pretty darn cute indeed. I think it’s pretty good she only took a small bite I would have inhaled it all with crumbs flying all around me, Head hung in shame…
Can’t say I blame her
Your granddaughter cracks me up. She reminds me of the stories my mom tells of me and my twin brother getting into trouble when we were toddlers. We were double trouble for sure.
LOL. this is the best. So adorable! I love that you took the picture of the bitten cookie. Maybe I’ll start calling you Bitten Cookie Lady
. I love your base cookie, with holly leaves, it is beautiful
Soo cute!! LOL! Just shows how much she adores your cookie! I think the second cookie base looks even better with Santa’s face on it
You must be such a favourite my friend, this Santa looks beautiful
Cheers

OMG! I can’t stop laughing! These pictures must be framed. Sophie is so adorable, and the bitten cookie is the best! You should replace your logo picture with this one.
God bless all of you.
She’s a cutie alright!
And a go getter! But who could blame her?
Totally something I would do and quite possibly may have done…a few times.
Sophie is adorable and I don’t blame her one bit. Your cookies look pretty darn hard to resist.
She is adorable…and lucky to have a grandma who sees the humor in her sweetness!
Many adults (myself included) could not resist your baking. I ‘m with Sophie!
