My Corny Valentines – #4

February 10, 2013

We are into our 3rd week in Florida now and the weather has been lovely.  It has only rained once and that was during the evening so…bonus!  My cold is gone and so is my golf swing :(  I signed up for four lessons from the Pro at the local club that our friends here belong too.  Had my first lesson on Tuesday and played my worst round of golf on Thursday.  Everything the Pro taught me runs through my head each time I address the ball.  I know I’m over thinking it and just need to relax, grip it and hit it!  Meanwhile, back at home our house-sitters had to deal with clearing our driveway of 35 cms. of snow.  Thank goodness that they don’t mind operating our snow-blower.  They will certainly get a work-out with it!

On to cookies…my final set of Corny Valentine’s and actually, next to the *Love You to the Moon and Back* ones, these are my favourites.  Tweety Bird is just so cute and with my Kopykake they were pretty easy to decorate!

Lovin you is so tweet

The large square frame cutter was used to make these cookies and once again, they were first piped (using a #2 tip) then flooded with light blue icing.

Pipe(I just love all those teeny vanilla beans, can’t make my cookies without them)

Flood

Once the flood icing was completely dry, I traced the image of Tweety with black piping icing.

Outline Tweety

When the black piping was dry, Tweety’s body was flooded with bright yellow flood icing.

Tweety Flooded

Next Tweety’s feet were flooded in bright orange flood icing.

Tweet was left to dry completely overnight.  The next day, using a black and an orange food colouring pen, Tweety’s facial details were added.

Tweety's Face Added

Last but not least, using red piping icing, little hearts were added and with white piping icing and a #1.5 tip, the Valentine messages were added.

You Are the Tweetest

Corny yes, but still kinda *tweet*

First of all… these cookies are freakishly cute! And secondly… this may not really be the best advice and I’m not a real golfer by any means, but back in the day the mr and I use to go to the driving range for fun. I always did my best after having a few drinks before we left. Maybe I was more relaxed and was just having more fun? Worth a shot anyway right? :)
