DANIELLE!!!  Congratulations and thank you for visiting!  I know you will love your new Delta Linden Touch 2O Faucet.

**********

Happy New Year everyone!  It’s been a wonderful holiday break for me and my family and I hope that all of you enjoyed this special time with loved ones as well.  After being basically *unplugged* from this blog and social media over the past two weeks it may seem a little odd that my first post of 2013 has nothing to do with decorated cookies.  Especially given that I have so many new designs planned and ready to share with you.  Actually, that’s not quite true.  I have NO IDEA what I will be posting throughout the year but when inspiration hits, I’ll be sure to share.

Today’s post is more about what I’m sure, most bakers like myself have to face once we’ve put the finishing touches on that final cookie.  Yes…the clean-up!  All those squeeze bottles, icing filled tips and bags, mixing bowls, spatulas, etc.  If you are anything like me, the only good thing about the clean-up from decorating is finishing it.

Several weeks ago the wonderful folks at Delta offered me the opportunity to accept a beautiful tool that would help me, not only with my baking/decorating clean-up but with all of our cooking clean-ups.  In exchange for my personal review(s) about the Delta Touch 2O kitchen faucet, I received this beautiful Linden model for our home.

Delta Faucet Installed

This Touch 2O Technology faucet has a list price of $497.  My husband is pretty handy around the house but given the value of this gift from Delta, he decided that he would hire a plumber to install it.  Delta does provide a very concise instruction booklet complete with great illustrations. As it happened, this was the first Touch 2O faucet that our plumber had installed and though he only referred to the booklet once, he was glad that it was provided.

Delta Installation Guide 2

The complete removal of our old faucet and installation of our new Touch 2O faucet took less than an hour.  Once our plumber left us to *play* with it, I took a few pictures of underneath our kitchen sink so you can see just how little space the hardware for this faucet takes up.

Under Sink View Delta Hardware

The removal spray nozzle comes with a 59″ long hose which,  as you can see in the picture above, is weighted.  Tucked behind the cylindrical weight is the battery pack that keeps the Touch 2O technology running.  Delta provides the initial *AA* batteries and I’m curious to see how long they last before having to be replaced.  I store some of my baking sheets/pans under my sink so I’m pretty happy that the new hardware does not interfere with any of that storage space.

Delta Faucet Under Sink

I’ll be doing another post on our new faucet in 6 months time and again in another 6 months so I’ll be able to update you with our opinions as time goes on.  We had the faucet installed on the 26th of November and I can honestly tell you that both my husband and I have been extremely happy with it these past several weeks.

We both love the look of this Linden model.  The fact that the design was inspired by *a strong presence in nature, like that of a tree with reaching branches* fits in perfectly with our country home and with our attempts to bring the outside in when we decorated.  The Linden model has a lower arc than some of the other Delta Touch 2O Technology faucets and it turned out to be the perfect size for the open concept kitchen/living/dining-room layout of our home.  We had concerns that the faucet may interfere with the view from the kitchen out and we were worried that a high arc faucet would be a distraction to those who may be sitting at the breakfast bar.  The lower height and arc of the Linden model causes no such interference or distractions.

LR DR Kit Layout

In addition to the sleek and unobtrusive design, my husband and I love that this Delta Touch 2O faucet works with just a touch.  Tap anywhere on the faucet and you have running water, either in a stream or in a spray.  In the middle of a cleaning job and need to switch from spray to stream…just touch.  Done using the water, touch again and it shuts off.  We can also increase the gpm (gallons per minute flow) at the touch of a switch located beneath the faucet arm.  The removable spray arm easily lifts from its base to allow us to fill our deep pasta pot, tall flower vases, or to just rinse out the sinks.  We have double sinks and enjoy the fact that this faucet can easily swivel over both.

I’m a stickler for cleaning smudges and fingerprints off of my furniture and appliances.  The Linden is easy to wipe clean and by turning the faucet arm to the off position, cleaning can happen without the water turning on as you wipe down the faucet.  I suppose if you don’t want to use up batteries, you can operate this faucet completely manually but then you are not getting full advantage of the Touch technology and it is something that we are really enjoying.  What we’ve also discovered with this new faucet is that it won’t turn on or off if you have cloth covering your hands but if the sensor senses your bare skin near it, you will start the water.  It will also work if you touch with either latex or nitrile gloves on your hands.  It really is a *nice piece of kit* as they say and we are very grateful to Delta for having sent us this Linden Touch 2O Technology faucet.

Delta Faucet Installed 2

Now, one of my readers can have this same faucet (in the stainless steel model) in their kitchen.  Yes, Delta has sent me an additional faucet to give away to one of you.  Simply read the rules below and leave me a comment.  I will do a random draw on January 10th and announce which one of you has won!  I really think whoever wins this will be as delighted with this product as my husband and I are.  While I still don’t look forward to cleaning up from cookie decorating, I will say that it is more enjoyable, especially switching from stream to spray depending on what I’m washing/rinsing with just a touch and I am using less water with our new Delta faucet!

Decorating Clean Up

Good luck to each of you.

Delta/Brizo is an amazing company – they really go above and beyond with their generosity towards bloggers :-) I have a Brizo kitchen faucet, and we’ll be installing Brizo faucets in our master bathroom.

I would LOVE to have this Touch 20 faucet in our laundry room. I use the laundry room sink to clean up after I paint, and hubby uses it after working on the cars. So our hands are always covered with paint or plaster or grease or some other kind of goo – a touch faucet would be ideal :-)

Happy New Year Paula!
